Recently there was an anti-homosexual marriage publicity in taiwanese TV.
However, what they did say, was totally wrong; therefore, a LGBT group made a video to opposite the opinions and fakes in this publicity.

video

I was quite angry when I saw this publicity!
Should this kind of fake and unreal video not be banned?
However, I believe it's more important to spread the real stuff.

In this bill we do not change any name of family members.
You can still say "Dad", "Mom", "Grandpa", "Grandma"...etc., after all, how your family want to call each other, it's all your decision.
Besides, on the back of our ID card, it is written "Spouse" for decades, not "A Couple of one man and one woman".

Some people commented:
"I am against your rights, because I'm worried about our future kids!"
"If you guys get married and adapt kids, they will be bullied in school or in the society!"
Shouldn't we actually try to find the real source of this discrimination?
If we all teach our kids to treat others equally and respect others' choices, I don't believe that they will grew up as bullies.
For which I'm pissed off is that those anti-LGBT people don't even get the guts to admit that they do discriminate us homosexual people, but using "protecting children" as a reason to classify us as a second class of this society!
So, this is your best education method?
To teach them to separate and classify people around?
In the fact, we also get worried about your kids in this point. We cannot imagine what kind of people they might turn out to be...

All human beings are born equal and have the same human rights, such as getting married.
Religious liberty and speech liberty, which belong to the human liberty, should not be exaggerated, once they damage or sabotage the basic human rights.

An non-stop childhood: I'll be a Pokemon Master (Unboxing)

Since end of September, rabbit Wei started to live as a working class....
As a normal worker, one of the benefits is that, after rent, 40% for unreasonable German taxes, stuffs to fill our stomach, we could still save some money, if we want to.
To celebrate that I step into a new phase, I decided to take my childhood back as a gift for myself!

Thanks to amazon.co.jp! They did pack them well!

New N3DS LL special Pikachu edition for celebration of 20 years Pokemon!!! (There's another special edition, black with cover monsters... Well, for rabbit Wei, you need to be cute to catch my eyes...! 😜)

For me, Pokemon do speak Japanese! (Of course, with the option to play in traditional Chinese is a great thing for other players) Therefore, I insisted to buy pure Japanese console and softwares from amazon.co.jp; moreover, there're not that many softwares for Taiwanese consoles.

I teared the plastic part carefully, and put it on the table gently (like taking care of a baby...)

After all, I bought the download version of Pokemon Moon, so, it was a little bit sad because of lack of emotional moment of getting the whole new package with drawing on it; however, I also received two cute handy bags as special gifts! (As you might already guess, rabbit Wei only uses the blue electronic mouse one 😅, although my dearest love is actually Dedenne:

Dedenne is really really super cute, isn't it?!

as a close relative, Pikachu still got the qualification as priority...!)

Are you smiling at me? (Shy)

After opening the package, Pikachu just smiled at me!!!!!! (I was almost melted by its smile, so six exclamations...) I almost forgot to open it to play and smiled back to it like an id.... (HELLO?!)

Comparing to 20 years ago, there are exactly more buttons, haha

Although it's not the soft yellow as outside, it's actually not that bad.
Yellow color does remind me my first Game Boy (below, in my hand), it was black-white, even with small batteries... It also reminds me of that summer, in which my younger brother and I in underwear and short pants ran secretly to a book shop next by to buy our first Game Boy of our life... What kind of courage and determination we needed, to finish this task?! I definitely need to make a huge compliment to us in that time! (Hehehe... )

How come did it take you so long, your majesty?!

Next step was to download my Pokemon Moon with this extremely slow with bad quality German Internet... Trainers in Taiwan and Hong-Kong have already begun their journeys! Rabbit Wei couldn't lose from the starting line, after all, I am determined to be a Pokemon Master!

😜😜😜😜😜😜

Anyway, my first unboxing blog was dedicated to my childhood, plus new life-goal: Pokemon Master! Hugs to everyone, who still carry on their adventures with their Pokemons after these 20 years!

p.s. Lion Xu has been worried that rabbit Wei could be addicted to video games..., but I do really play that hard when I just get my new games...
However, according to the following pictures, rabbit Wei did take Pokemon with him to everywhere...

One piece of paper - Memoir of LMU from rabbit Wei

Last week, rabbit Wei finally got his Master degree from LMU...
Taking it as a chance, it reminds me also all the details in these three years.

The end of Sep., 2013, rabbit Wei dragged two suitcases, arriving in the raining Munich.
I luckily won the lottery for a room by student dormitory; however, I wasn't in Munich yet in August; therefore, I couldn't register myself to the city hall and provide my bank account! Rabbit tried to send couple of emails to Studentenwerk, and somebody finally answered me...
"Well, then you have to register yourself on the day you'll arrive and give me your bank account immediately, ok?"

Few days later, rabbit Wei came to LMU for enrollment...
"There's a document missing!"
This sentence was frightening me to death, two days after I ran through the whole campus and finally got a certification from the secretary to verify that they have checked the papers from Taiwan...
On 1st. Oct., I received my student ID, which looks like a recycling piece of paper... (even local students have asked for years for an electronic card...) Plus later all of these paper form of scores and notes, it's obviously a joke if you believe that Germany's doing its best for our environment...

The first week by LMU, except of getting gifts for new students and trying to attend all the classes, I also got to know Iris and Jenny, who helped me a lot during these years.
Since the lessons of german literature were so boring that I decided to change to german linguistic.
However, rabbit does despite the attitude of International Office in LMU... Not even to mention their efficiency, they kept showing despising faces and even scored another student, who didn't speak German well, who also wanted to change her subject. Let's not discuss if you do know how to treat another human being rightly, just because of the name "International Office for foreign students" I don't believe that you're paid to act this way!

In fact, modernization in German universities is also a ridiculous joke. In the first two semesters, rabbit Wei had even to ask professors to sign a small note for his notes, then sent it to secretary for a stamp, and then they would send it to the department of exams. And it means two or three months... (I know it sounds like an unbelievable, horror story for taiwanese students.) Moreover, the administrators in the university do even have a better working hours than public servants, so rabbit Wei even had to skip the classes, just to get it all done...!
From biolinguistic to historical linguistic, dialectology to computer linguistic, oberseminars to master thesis, in these years rabbit Wei had visited many classes, known many different colleagues. Even though many people call it an "unemployed" department, I do still believe that these years did mean something, since I got to know another corner of the world, which other people neglected.

Of course, it wasn't always easy in these three whole years, because of my master thesis I had to stay in the mountain of North Italy for weeks.
"An asian, who can speak German and Italian, wants to research a southern german dialect in North Italy?" The chef of the hotel couldn't believe his own ears.
One month of research, two months of reading and writing, one month of revision, and finally, at the begin of July I was able to hand over my master thesis!

七月初交上論文後,等到八月底教授度假回來才開始審查;
九月初審查完後,小緯兔拿到了教授的評審成績,但是考試部堅持要收到教授的親筆信函;

Now, you might ask:
"Then, how come you just got your certification just now?"
My dear, dear, dear child, you will definitely get sick, once you compare the german efficiency to Taiwan...
In Germany, it's hard to get an appointment with your professors, not even mention that you might be kicked to West, then to East... (I still remember that by NCCU it's fast like a lightning...)
Here's my personal experience:
At the begin of July, I handed over my master thesis to the department of exam; however, it would only be revised by professors, once he came back from his vacation on the end of August;
At the begin of Sep., the revision was finally finished, I already got the note from my professor, but the department of exam insisted that they had to wait the note via post, since they cannot be sure if the note, which my professor handed to me, was real;
In the mid of Sep, they finally got it via post, rabbit Wei, naively, thought it was the end of waiting!
HOWEVER, another professor W just left all the notes of all students and disappeared!
Rabbit Wei personally wrote more than ten Emails and had tried to make phone calls, trying to reach her... The secretary, the department of exam and student committee all tried to contact her, all in vain...
In the end of Sep. I took another chance to attend her last counseling time in her office. In front of her office there were many students waiting, complaining why she has never answered one single mail. After 90 minutes, I finally got to meet her; however, she just showed that she had too much work and couldn't be hurried! Do you know, I almost became an illegal resident here in Germany because of you?! The dead line for you to send all the notes to the department of exam was the end of August! Anyway, the power of professors in Germany is exactly exaggerated too far, after all, the university didn't dare to do a thing on professors...

Huuuuu, typing all of these, by getting this piece of paper it also means that these three years had officially been ended. Saying good-bye to books and libraries, computer screen and administrating works are waiting for rabbit Wei.
In these years, except of thanks to Iris and Jenny for their helps, thanks to professor R for his recognition, and thanks to Julia, Stefan and Markus for their revision of my papers, I specially need to thank my parents for their financial support and my lion Xu for his spiritual support with dearest love! Without you, rabbit Wei could still be studying?! (Na, after three years, you can't get the degree anyway...)
Good-bye, life of waiting for coming off lessons!
Hello, life of waiting for getting off work... (laugh)

A "fake" friendly gesture - bugs in anti-LGBT articles

Today it's the 14th gay pride in Taipei, the biggest in Asia!
Although rabbit Wei and lion Xu are only to be there next year, we still stand by them, spiritually.

稍早,小緯兔在臉書碰巧讀到了篇刊登在蘋果日報上,某簡姓政客所投書的文稿;

Early this morning, rabbit Wei got to read an article on Facebook, which was written from an anti-LGBT politician. Suddenly, a beautiful morning turned into explosions of volcanos... (Actually I didn't actually know if I should laugh or cry, when I was reading that article...)
Rabbit Wei took a while to write some words against it on Facebook, although I don't know how many of you will read this article, I still want to make a brief summary on my blog:

The article from this politician are available under this link:
http://www.appledaily.com.tw/realtimenews/article/new/20161029/977914/

First, I would like to mark the emphasized points in his article:
1. An union between a man and a woman isn't as same as the combination between mens or women, because, if it's the same, we will not have to revise our civil law to legalize homosexual marriage.
2. Taiwan should learn from Germany: legislating another law only for homosexual couples instead of treating them as a really marriage as heterosexual couples. Because Taiwan isn't european countries; marriage is an important event of two families, not just love between two human beings.
3. The difference of traditional values and thoughts need to be solved with communication instead of attacking anti-LGBT groups' religious freedom. On his Facebook page, he even pointed out that christianity is a disadvantaged group in Taiwan, so they demand more sympathy from taiwanese folk.
4. This politician also wrote: I'm not against LGBT group, I do support their rights, but I'm against the revise to protect their equal right.

Here, rabbit Wei wants to refute these unreasonable points:
1. In the article, he denounces the revise of our civil law, since the union of straight couples isn't the same as gay couples. He even mentions the difference of familial values between Europe and Taiwan. This opinion should be treated as a serious discrimination of two groups: European and taiwanese LGBT groups. How can you prove that european despise the opinion of parents, once they want to get married? Do European not have familial values? Exactly because you always wear a prejudicial glasses, it makes some people obstinately keep distinguishing a combination of two human beings into "straight union" and "gay union". How come is straight love a real love, but gay love not? How come is heterosexual marriage a real marriage, but homosexual marriage not? Isn't a malicious grading of people, only specific people are allowed to enjoy the right to love and to marry? Using the flaw of our civil law to try to sugarcoat the fact of discrimination is actually a bilk. Honestly, who attaches a label for love, doesn't understand love at all.

2. This politician advocates in his article that we should learn from Germany: Legislating another law only for LGBT groups, so that they will be relative, even they won't be treated as a real marriage. I doubt if he did follow the political situation recently in Europe in these years. In these two years, almost all western european countries legalized homosexual marriage; comparing to Germany, only because Angela Merkel said: "I got a bad feeling for this." (German: "Ich habe ein schlechtes Bauchgefühl" Literally translated: "I have a bad stomach feeling."), so Germany's already left behind by other european countries! This kind of result's already seen as a joke for most German, some people even wrote: "Why should I care if one grandma has a stomach pain?". In these years, one the the most important appeals of german gay prides is exactly asking the government to legalize the real homosexual marriage. Honestly, since we already witnessed the mistake of Germany, how could we accept that you want us to follow their step to make the same mistake for the next ten years? Isn't that a common sense?

3. One of the most ridiculous points is that he believes not to revise the civil law can avoid the conflict of taiwanese folk.
The right of marriage is one of our rights as a human being. Although the freedom of speech and religion also belong to human liberty, despite they are literally not on the same level, all our human liberties only stand when we don't encroach another's rights and liberties.
Everyone who has attended to history classes knows that most of revolutions happened, just because they were unfairly handled; how can those people who agree the opinion of this politician be able to decide that LGBT groups should be administered by another law and become a second class, whose marriage cannot be taken seriously? How come an union of two human beings need to be differentiate? In his article, he even asked for more sympathy and safety for christian groups and those homophobic groups in Taiwan, since they are disadvantaged groups!
Mr. Jian, even Europe, where christianity came from, legalized homosexual marriage, isn't that a paradox that most of you are still using "protecting our religion" as an excuse?
Mr. Jian, since I was a kid, I have only heard about that a straight group beat a gay man, just because he's gay; but I haven't heard that a gay group has even beaten a straight guy, just because he's straight. Tell me, which one is the minor one in this society?
Mr. Jian, I have also a lot of friends, who are christian and also support homosexual marriage. Personally, I give all religious groups, who don't suppress other's human rights, my best wishes.

4. Recently the word "fake friendly" is quite popular on Facebook, those who really have power just give us some candy and then secretly deprive our rights...
For this article full of discrimination of LGBT rights this politician even made its title "I support LGBT rights", it's just like a kid trying to sugarcoat everything he had done wrong.
There's a simplest way to make a summary of this debate:
- Number one: Revise the civil law, admit the homosexual marriage, and make both sides protected.
- Number two: Refuse to revise the law, legislate another law only for LGBT groups, and indirectly admit that homosexuals are second class in our country, since they don't have right to marry, which should actually be granted by our constitution.
Isn't this comparison clear enough for our government to know which way they should be taking?

After all of this, I don't know if someone read it until the end?... It's a reminder for everyone, the revolution isn't succeed yet! Our rights can only be fought for by us! Learn to tolerante, learn to respect and learn to know what love really means, it's probably the most important homework for us in our life.

Heading to the South - Sendlinger Tor

After work rabbit Wei always wants to just lie on couch with lion Xu...
But, Blog still needs to be updated!
So this week let me introduce you another not famous spotlight in Munich!

Sendlinger Tor, the south gate of Munich's old city wall. The square next to is called Sendlinger-Tor-Platz. From 1285 to 1337, Ludwig the fourth expended the city of Munich, and Sendlinger Tor was one of city gates. The towers on the both sides were built in 1420.
Moreover, 1318 Sendlinger Tor was first documented as the door heading to Italy.

1808, the main tower of Sendlinger Tor was teared down; the architect Zenetti started in 1860 its restoration. Three gates were combined into one main gate because of the traffic convenience in 1906. Luckily, Sendlinger Tor wasn't harmed in the second world war. Until now, you can still see the rest of the old city wall next to it!

Sendlinger-Tor-Platz was connected with Müllerstr., the night life area of Munich, and Sonnenstr. to Karlsplatz, so the traffic is extremely convenience here. Comparing to Neuhausenstr. and Tal next to Marienplatz, Sendlinger isn't famous at all, but there're also many stores to shop. Since July 1st, it was turned into a passenger only area, so people will have an even better shopping environment.

Except of some interesting tiny shops, Starbucks and luxus store are also found here; one of the most famous churches in Munich - Asamkirche stands also on this street. It was privately built from Asam brothers from 1733 to 1746, but later people protested that church shouldn't be private, so they had to make it public, even though they afforded all the costs for this church.

Next time, if you have a chance to come to Munich, don't forget to come this area to walk around!

Farewell, U26; and farewell, that quarter of time.

Once rabbit Wei had written an article about Olydorf, which was less famous than other spotlights in Munich. (If you've missed that one, you can read it over here: http://taiwanineuropa.blogspot.de/2015/11/olydorf-alternative-for-tourists-in.html)
The reason why rabbit mentioned this place again is that rabbit Wei had spent whole three years here. Sep. 30th, it's the end of my rent to this tiny bungalow. Three years ago I won this chance to live here by lottery for First-Semester-Students; therefore, I was free from the trouble of looking for a place to sleep and able to concentrate on my study. Let's take a look about my brief story with U26 (Hause number of rabbit Wei's bungalow).

My first date with U26

Oct. 1st, 2013, rabbit Wei stood alone with a 20 kg huge backpack and a 30 kg luggage in front of the door of U26 after being kicked out by his ex. This pure grey-white wall and cloudy sky responded perfectly to his mood, grey and dark, without any joyful colors.
"You won't be sleeping on the street anyway, go!"
When I was standing there, this sentence was still repeating next to my ears...
That door numbered with U26 seemed to laugh at me: "Come in then! After all, it's only place you are able to stay."
Rabbit Wei opened that door.

The first meet between U26 and rabbit's family

Mar. 2014, rabbit's Dad and rabbit's Mom came to visit rabbit Wei.
"Take a foto for me and U26!"
Rabbit's Mom, holding rabbit Wei's panda, smiled to rabbit's Dad, who stood on the other side of the camera. This taiwanese rabbit and his family hanged the national flags on U26, decorated it, used flash light to add a little vitality to this tiny bungalow. The U26 of this time, except of only grey and white, got even red and blue, just like a recovering wound.

The last sight of rabbit Wei from leaving U26

It was an extremely hot summer in 2014.
Sunshine shining directly in bungalows, lousy aeration with stuffy air, and smells of BBQ, they are the best description of Olydorf in Summer.
Rabbit Wei brought paints home, moved a recycling cargo to the front of U26, and started to give U26 a new cloth with chalks and brushes.
"Picasso was born like this!" A german old man, who always walks his dog with bike, said.
Had U26 known rabbit Wei better in that moment?
This tiny asian rabbit, who accidentally ran into this nation of giants, has never wished to be extremely successful or rich, but only try to leave a single trace to prove that he has once lived and to find someone to share this lifetime.
"I hope the next resident won't wash that out." Rabbit Wei thought.

Maybe one day this wall will also be one of the evidences, which prove that I had once lived.

No matter it's those white flowers of Spring,
or the red leaves of Autumn,
the scenarios from this balcony are irreplaceable.

It's not heater, which keeps this bungalow warm,

but the people who have once been here!

2015 was a whole new year. With change of seasons, that tree next to the balcony also changed its clothes one by one.
Snow in Winter, flowers in Spring, green leaves in Summer and blood-red maple in Autumn. All of them were captured by rabbit Wei's eyes.
Even rabbit's life, which almost seemed to be stopped, started to turn again.

I cannot remember when, unconsciously, that empty living room was filled with friendships.
I cannot remember when, unconsciously, that broken heart was filled with loves.

With couplets U26 could be the most stylish bungalow in that time.
Looking at this empty space, comparing to those photos above,
then I finally realized it's time to say good bye

In front of disk there were tears, laughs and great efforts

In these days, counting down when you need to be given back, rabbit Wei tried to make you shining, inside and outside. No matter it's the door once with red couplets, bad lighting living room in the first floor, or the tiny balcony, where weed always overgrow. I did it not only because I want you to be neat to welcome the new resident, but also because it's a chance that I can cherish all these memories with you, one more time. In this tiny space, which's smaller than 18 square meters, you cried with rabbit Wei, laughed with rabbit Wei; you had seen rabbit Wei celebrating with his friends, writing his master thesis overnight, and even crying in his bed... Right now, all these scenes are just like slideshows, dancing in front of my eyes.

Standing on the new balcony, there's no Olympic tower anymore,
but another more beautiful scenario.

Maybe U26 did bring me luck,
I found my better half to share every single thing of my life

Yesterday I didn't just say goodbye to you, but also my life as a student. No matter it actually means a third or a quarter of my life, it's the foundation why I am who I am right now. Today I am moving on to another stage of my life, seeing different scenarios from a different balcony, setting different decorations in a different living room, and also hanging different names on a different door.

"Today I went to pick something up and just found out that someone's already living in my bungalow..."
"So fast! But darling, it's not your bungalow anymore." Lion Xu said, smiling.
"Rejection! It will be always "my" bungalow!" Rabbit refuted, without thinking.

In that moment, when the new resident opened the door, I saw his stuff spreading on the floor in the living room, and next to the window there were decorations, which I had never seen. What I felt was only unsatisfaction, "It's my bungalow!" rabbit Wei yelled in his heart! In that second, I realized my nostalgia and dependence on you. I even wanted to ask him to take good care of you, tell him how great you are, even though sometimes you will act like a spoiled child: Aeration can be bad, water may not be hot enough,  pipe could be blocked, fuse can be burned, even jalousie might be broken when it gets windy..., but everytime when I needed you, you were there.

Thank you for accompanying me for these three years, thank you for walking with me through these highs and lows, and more thanks to you for healing me from that heart-breaking, which I thought was incurable. Now it's time that you can start to help someone else.
Farewell, Olydorf.
Farewell, U26.
Farewell to me three years ago, who was lost and helpless.

A party-stand for more than 200 years - Theresienwiese

After a more-than-three-weeks adventure in a german hospital, lion Xu is finally able to lie on our couch and watch TV!
Rabbit Wei: "Doctor said you need to walk more!"
Lion Xu: "I do wander at home!"
Rabbit Wei: "That's not enough! Com'on! Let's take a walk!"
But, should a patient dance with all those exhausts on the streets? Fortunately Theresienwiese isn't far from our home. How about let me introduce one of the biggest party-stands in the world for you?

Bavaria on the west side of Theresienwiese

A constructing rolling-coaster: I wonder, if it heads directly into sky.

Theresienwiese locates at west-south side of city centre of Munich. It covers around 420.000 square meters, from the famous statue - Bavaria on the West, to the Esperanto Square on the East, and is circled by Bavariaring. Many people gather here for a walk, or even jogging. Its name came from Ludwig I.'s wife, Therse von Sachsen-Hildburghausen, also called Therese von Bayern. To celebrate their wedding on Oct. 12th 1810 there was a huge festival, including a horserace on Oct. 17th, which became our famous Oktoberfest right now. (Maybe later there will be a chance to write another article for Oktoberfest...)
In these more than 200 years, Oktoberfest isn't the only festival we have on Theresienwiese, but also Bayerische Zentral-Landwirtschaftsfest, Münchner Frühlingsfest, Tollwood-Festival etc..

Die this old, tall tree also witness all these histories?

However, the story of Theresienwiese isn't limited by tents, beer and amusement facilities.
Oct. 7th 1918, there was a demonstration with more than 60.000 people against the first world war, which indirectly led to the resignation of Ludwig III..
Jan. 7th and Feb. 16th 1919, here was a stopover of Münchner Räterepublik, which didn't last long.
Apr. 2nd 1938, Hitler celebrated his annexation of Austria here. In that moment, there were more than 500.000 people, swearing their fidelity to him right here on the field.
Sep. 26th 1980, an extremist, Gundolf Köhler, set a bomb by the main entrance of Oktoberfest, which costed 13 people's life and made more than 200 people injured. This event was treated as one of the most serious terrorist attacks after WWII by german government.

Once you look up to the shining sky, you will see,
how many different greens there shall be.

Taking a shot, holding lion Xu's hand, rabbit Wei thinks:
just like two of us, living in this temporarily limited space, human being belongs only to these tiny creatures, which are limited on this planet! This field recorded uncountable emotions after all these years: sadness by losing loved ones, happiness by having another Maß, anger of more than ten thousand of people, and hope of just two human beings. If Theresienwiese has a soul, I wonder, would it consider us worthy caressing or just ridiculous?

Honestly,
this german lion I'm holding looks good on photos! (Shy)

Anyway, in the end rabbit Wei doesn't forget to remind everyone who's reading this article. Although there's an underground station on Theresienwiese (U4/U5), it's always crowed by Oktoberfest. Here I suggest everyone to depart from the following stations: Hauptbahnhof, Karlsplatz, Goetheplatz, Poccistr. and Hackerbrücke, where you can reach to the tents easily. Moreover, Marienplatz and Sendlinger Tor are also "Piece of Cake" for rabbit Wei. (Although probably not for lion Xu...)
If you causally come to Theresienwiese for a walk and see a rabbit having a camera and holding a lightly gasping german lion, don't forget to say hi!

German Unendurable II - German medical care system

So, today I'm glad to present German Unendurable, Episode two!
In fact, I would rather not to get to know about the unfairness and defects in german medical system; however, the fate draw us here...
After one of my beloved articles about Deutsche Post, let's take a look, how lousy the german medical system can actually be!

"1. No matter how much pain you're suffering, please make an appointment"

I believe that everyone who has lived in Germany (or other european countries) knows this word "Termin" pretty well...
No matter you are going to open a bank account, change your visa, apply a health insurance, have a hair cut, even see a doctor, you have to make an appointment, otherwise you are not going to achieve anything. Some of you might ask: "But I cannot know when I will be sick or injured. How can I make an appointment for that?" Please, read the title with me: NO MATTER HOW MUCH PAIN YOU'RE SUFFERING, PLEASE MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! That's right! German don't care if it's a level one like a squeeze, or a level ten, which means you're getting fried in a hot, oiled pot! The first sentence will always be: "Do you have an appointment?"

(Of course, the example above doesn't apply to the situation when someone got hit by a truck and bleed like a fountain... But, entering ER doesn't mean that you're secured... You'll see...)

- Witness A: "I had once made an appointment at 3 o'clock, but I needed to wait until 5! I don't understand, why we still need to make one?!"
- Witness B: "In these six months I have been having continuously diarrhea problem. I went to my family doctor, he took my blood and one week later told me that there was nothing wrong. However, it didn't stop, so I went back again. He said, easily, "So, you can make a colonoscopy." Then I have to make an appointment by myself, and I have to wait for a month for that!"
- Rabbit Wei's personal experience: Two years ago, during the trip with rabbit's aunts I fell from the stairs. When we came back to Germany, it didn't go well, so I decided to see my family doctor. Forget the phone call, which I was trying to reach for the whole afternoon, the appointment I got was already two weeks later!

Summary: In Taiwan, heading to a normal clinic because of a normal sickness or injury won't let you wait for more than two hours. However, in Germany, clinics are always almost empty, people with appointments in the waiting room are countable with two hands, then what is the problem of slight of needy patients? Going to family doctor first, and when it's more serious, then head to hospitals, so we can avoid the waste of medical resources. It's definitely right to do (comparing to those grannies in Taiwan, who visit hospitals when they get cold...); however, serious or not, it shouldn't be judged by bureaucracy, but a fast random judgement. If it's an injury with bones, and it turns into an irreversible or unrepairable damage, or, if one month later an actually treatable severe disease is found by colonoscopy, and it's too late... who should be responsible?

"2. Professional attitude vs. Humanistic attitude"

From family doctors to big hospitals, from doctors to nurses, from foreigners to germans, it doesn't matter in Germany, 90% of medical personnels won't treat you with smiles or sweet attitudes. 90% of them see it only as "work" (let's skip whether they're doing well... It will be mentioned in the next section), they deal with your physical pains, but psychological needs aren't in their service area... Some hospitals cooperate with churches, so fathers or bishops might "casually" come and look around, to visit some patients who don't have visitors. (Yes, "causally". In whole three weeks, I had seen him only twice. Once he saw I was there for lion Xu, he left in the next second.) Here are some of my personal experiences, which I feel horrible for their lousy attitudes:

- Since it was the very first time that rabbit Wei stepped into a german hospital, I had no clue where I should be looking for lion Xu, so I decided to ask for some infos from the information center...
"My boyfriend told me that he should be in station X"
"Upstair. Third floor."
Rabbit Wei rushed up, but it was so different from in Taiwan. There was no doorplate, every door was closed and there was no sign of a single human being, so rabbit Wei went down again to the information center...
"Excuse me, sir. Could you find out which room my boyfriend could actually be?"
"Can't you knock? There are nurses, they are human being. You can ask them!"
(Deeply in rabbit Wei's heart: That just proves that you are not!)

- Rabbit Wei was trying to know if lion Xu had already been in the station
"Good afternoon, I'm a family member of XXX, could you..."
"I don't know. He is not here."
"Do you know how long it will still take? Because I have already waited for the whole afternoon."
"I don't know." And sent rabbit Wei a face, which said "I know nothing, what do you want from me"

- After the first operation, lion Xu had continuously nausea, he couldn't sleep and kept puking, so he rang the night-shift nurse
"I have been having this nausea whole day, could you do something...?"
"Haven't you said that already couples of time? Don't keep ringing! Don't you know that I have a lot of stuffs to do?"

「XXX」

- One day, rabbit Wei and lion Xu were sitting on the table, one medical personnel came in with patients' lunch
"XXX"
"I am here." Lion Xu answered.
Then he just left the plate next to the bed and did't want to spend five seconds to put it on the table...

Summary: In Germany, patients are "work", not "human". Medical personnel don't need to care about your feeling. They only have to finish their duties, and the rest is the responsibility of the next shift. Except it's quite often that you aren't able to find anyone in the station or get any answer from them, in the last two hours of changing shifts they don't even care to come to check the patients, but stay in their room and leave the work to the next shift. It's just a vicious circle, again and again. P.S. However, we need to thank those 10% of personnels, who still have their  human nature and generous attitudes during the work. Thanks for your concerns and greetings, so that rabbit Wei and lion Xu didn't have a second break down in that "prison"...

"3. "Slow" work doesn't guarantee a "fine" quality. If you cannot "wait", you just need to "suffer" a little more"

If you've been to Europe, a slow, leisure lifestyle can't be unfamiliar for you. If we talk nicely, it's leisure and relaxing; if we talk "honestly", it's probably just a combination of overprotecting labour-law, 9-17 working time with non-accountability, which causes occupational neglect. This kind of situation is happening everywhere in Germany (such as the testimony of the witness A)
Let me tell you our three-weeks-journey from the very beginning...

- One day morning, rabbit Wei got a SMS from lion Xu
"Rabbit, I cannot go to work today. I will visit my family doctor later because of this stomach ache."
"Ok, tell me how it is later!"
After more than one-hour-waiting, the family doctor believed that it was only a normal inflammation and gave lion Xu antibiotic.
*1 (Is that wise, not to run a blood test and definite it as a normal inflammation? I don't believe that antibiotic is something that we can take irrationally...)

- And surely, lion Xu called next morning
"Rabbit, can you come here as soon as possible? I just called the ambulance, because I cannot stand the pain anymore!"
Rabbit Wei rushed to the ER of the hospital, looking for lion Xu. And of course, since there are working hours for the information front desk, no one is there to help.
*2 (In some institutes, like hospitals, isn't that wise to have a 24 hours info center? After all, you cannot tell everyone not to get sick and got hit by a car in the midnight. Am I wrong?)

- After rabbit Wei finally found lion Xu
"What did doctors say?"
"They don't know what's wrong yet and want to make an ultrasound."
Yes, we had waited for this ultrasound for more than 90 minutes.
Yes, there were only lion Xu, a german grandma and a drunk foreigner in the ER.
And yes, there were plenty of doctors, at least four times more than patients.
*3 (So, couldn't those chatting doctors do something? So, when patients scream because of pain, it's still not serious enough to speed up for them, because there's no blood to be seen?)

- Since ultrasound couldn't tell us anything either and the inflammation was confirmed by the blood, one doctor published his speech
"The inflammation is serious, but we cannot find anything by ultrasound, and there was no sign of calculus, so we might need to do a CT. But, this examination is expensive, so the chief-doctor would like to see you first, then we can decide."
Yes, no matter how much you pain you're suffering, please make sure you won't waste our money.
Yes, we had waited for the chief-doctor for three hours.
Yes, the chief-doctor scheduled a CT at one o'clock.
Yes, we had waited until 3 for that CT.
And yes, we had waited further until almost 6, so that the chief-doctor finally checked the result of the CT and decided that lion Xu had to be operated.
*4 (So, it's ok to let an original level 5 sickness worsen to level 9? Should we make an appointment for CT or even a table for operation in advance next time?)

A hard-to-get infusion does represent the helpless feeling of patients.
- After the exhausting first day, there are more to tell...
Since rabbit Wei was there for lion Xu everyday, so everything couldn't escape from rabbit's eyes, haha
"Excuse me, nurse, you said that I need to tell you once this infusion finished and you will need to hang another one." Lion Xu rang the bell and told the nurse with his weak voice.
"Ok. I will change that immediately."
Yes, this infusion we had waited for 90 minutes.
Yes, sometimes no nurse comes to check the whole afternoon.
And yes, in the end, even lion Xu gave up to ring, since it makes absolutely no difference.
*5 (Shouldn't it already be organized  by doctors how much medicine a specific patient should take during a specific time? No matter less or more, who is going to be responsible, once there's problem of that?

- Since rabbit Wei stayed by lion Xu's side everyday, of course there were so many ridiculous conversations to be witnessed.
"How come you didn't tell me that infusion finished already?"
"I already told nurse Z 90 minutes ago."
"Oh!"

"You cannot eat yet, only tee or water."
"But this morning the chief-doctor said I can eat normally."
"Oh!"

"I come to adjust your pain-killer dose."
"But the other nurse said you are going to try to stop it, then I will tell you once I need it again."
"Oh!"

"Mr. XXX, what kind of surgery are you going to take today?" One nurse asked.
"It should be surgery Y... Isn't that your job? I am the patient and you are the nurse!" Lion Xu said, opening his eyes with an unbelievable look.
"Oh!"
*6 (In this place, where time should actually be the most important element to save a life; however, the information isn't common and communicated at all! How can you be sure that the medicine the nurse is giving is actually the planned one by your doctor?! How can you be sure you are being pushed into the right OR?! And eventually, what are you trying to express with a "Oh!"?!)

Here, writing is the only way to express your sadness, your anger and your fear.

The quality of the service of the hospital is easily to be seen:
- You won't be assisted to clean up before 10:30.
- You need to wait on the hall way for three hours, so someone will bring you back to the station after the operation.
- There's only one night-shift-nurse for two stations on all weekend-evenings.
- You won't be taken care even when you ring the bell and tell them you're bleeding because of the catheter, so you have to pull yourself out of the bed and stumbled to the toilette for tissues.
- No one takes a look when you tell them that the wound seems to be bleeding.
- You cannot trust their time-schedule, either they will come earlier or far later.
For all of these we could possibly blame to saving personnel costs, enorm outsourcing, and uneven personnel distribution, so it's impossible for patients to get real medical cares! Let me tell you another story as example...

On one Saturday afternoon, lion Xu was allowed to come home. Unfortunately, we had to go back to hospital that same night, because the pain came back and got even worse...
Once we got there, lion Xu explained everything and sent to wait for 30 minutes for an ultrasound. Nothing was found, one doctor told lion Xu to stay in bed, then disappeared...
Unexpectedly, in this moment, the pain was so unendurable that lion Xu was even screaming and crying for help. Rabbit Wei ran for help, but in that big ER there was absolutely no medical personnel, there were only another patient and a cleaner!
I asked the cleaner, if he knew where the doctors were, "You have to wait."
I asked the nurse in the station, which we were going to later, "You have to wait."
Even I told her that we had already waited for more than two hours and my boyfriend was crying, "How come there's no one?!" I said, "You have to wait." said the nurse, again.
Yes, it's empty in ER.
Yes, in those two hours, the only thing rabbit Wei could do was watching lion Xu screaming and trying to hold his hand tight.
And yes, a sickness with level one could actually turn into level nine!
Only until around two o'clock in the midnight lion Xu finally got treated and sent to the station, and rabbit Wei was able to catch the last underground to get home...

Next morning, one doctor made another ultrasound and still got nothing!
So, they decided to do a CT on "Monday".
Yes, even they know how much pain lion Xu was suffering, it didn't bother them to procrastinate the exam from 8 o'clock on Sunday morning to 12 o'clock on Monday!
Monday morning lion Xu was forbidden to eat because of the CT, until 11:30 a nurse brought him a lunch plate... "Mr. XXX, here's your lunch."
"But I cannot eat. There will be an exam."
"Oh, it's cancelled."
Yes, it's cancelled without any notice!
Yes, lion Xu was starving for nothing!
Yes, no one came to tell us about the blood exam that morning!
Yes, we had even waited for more than three hours to get the discharge release!
"Rabbit, there's nothing we can do, doctors are all going to operate, so that they can get more premie..."
*7 (European attack the capitalism in the USA all the time, but german hospitals are actually the one, which is super good at it! What kind of consideration does make no personnel in the ER on the weekend? What kind of calculation does let cares and lives of patients be equal with one nurse for two stations? What kind of budget is worthy to postpone a critical medical exam for patients? And what kind of goal of life does make doctors prefer process more operations than take five minutes to inform the result of blood exam and discharge patients?)

Summary: Capitalism and mercantilism are everywhere, and there's no exception for german medical system! Neglecting patients' needs and uneven personnel distribution according to labor costs seem to be so inhuman that a patient can cry for help for two hours and doesn't get even a simple painkiller pill! "No matter if someone jumps off in front of a train, no matter how emergent it is, someone needs to be stay in the ER! They even need to consider that on weekend there should be more casualties than usual days! And they even cut the budget from here?!" Lion Xu's family doctor said, after having listened to lion Xu what really happened there in the hospital. The word "wait" can really be the sign of Germany. You have to wait for everything, and everyone asks you to wait, no matter how serious or critical the situation is, wait, wait, and wait! I don't even need to mention that sometimes you might be waiting for nothing! Think about it, even an original german citizen can be treated like this, how about all of those foreigners? All of these make rabbit Wei aware that health is the most important thing in the world! (It also proves that the german medical system is actually a joke...)

In conclusion: This series of German Unendurable is set to let people wake up from their german dreams. German work patiently for good quality, German are always on time and efficient, German plan well, German do their jobs decently, German are nice and reasonable, all of these fairy tales are vanished right here, right now with all these unbelievable scandals in german hospitals! At least I've never experienced such thing in Taiwan! In the end, rabbit Wei suggests everyone who's coming to Europe (or Germany) to work out regularly to stay fit, try not to get sick or injured. When there's an accident, try to make yourself bleed, otherwise they won't take you serious and no one will care even you cry out for help for two hours. Furthermore, it will be excellent if you try to make an appointment every single day, so that you "might" get the chance to see Mr. Doctor, otherwise you will need to wait for another month! (Joking...)
